NDT Inspections for Motorsport Safety
RST was established in 2023 (then called SMG NDT Motorsport Inspection) by Shane Gladman, an Aerospace NDT Technician, who's passion for motorsport led him to start the company.
RST has a simple mission, to provide the highest quality NDT inspections, at the most reasonable price. So whether our customer is at grassroots level, or the highest level of motorsport, we can help achieve the safety, reliability and results that the driver deserves.
RST has a laboratory based at Shoreham Airport in West Sussex, and also has the ability to come on site to carry out inspections.
RST have four methods of NDT we are able to carry out:
- Magnetic Particle Inspection - Also known as MPI or Magnaflux Testing
- Penetrant Testing - Also known as Dye Penetrant, DPI or FPI.
- Eddy Current Testing - Also known as ET or HFEC
- Ultrasonic Testing - Also known as UT
Our People
With the lack of a certification programme for NDT Technicians in Motorsport, we ensure our NDT Technicians are qualified to EN4179 Level 2 (aerospace) Standards, to gain this qualification, they have had to complete comprehensive courses and exams for each NDT method they are approved for. As well as having to carry out 2500 logged hours (based on holding 4 NDT Methods) of on the job training, under the supervision of a qualified Level 2 Technician
Our Reports
Our inspection Reports are informative and in depth, giving you all the information you need about your components.
We have a state of the art Digital Endoscope crack dimension measurement and evaluation System, that allows us to photograph and accurately measure defects.
Our Certificates of Inspection come with all information regarding Serial Numbers of Equipment used, Calibration Certificate References, Specification inspection carried out to, and Test Results.
